“Preserving traditional 18th- and 19th-century South Indian classical compositions while keeping them accessible and relevant to the next generation.”

Madhu Chandrasekaran is a foundational figure in the preservation, instruction, and performance of South Indian classical music in Florida. With over 30 years of dedication, he was trained under traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara lineages in India, developing a foundational repertoire emphasizing heavy-duty ragas, complex laya alignments, and devotional bhava expression.

Now based in Coral Springs, Florida, he serves as Cultural Program Coordinator at the Shiva Vishnu Temple of South Florida and Joint Artistic Advisor with APAI. He has prepared dozens of students for their Arangetram debuts and youth music festivals across the East Coast, bridging the temple's religious functions with its classical music programming.
